Roles & Responsibilities

The Cost Engineer (CENGR) plays a vital role in supporting the financial and cost management of construction projects by ensuring accurate cost estimation, budgeting, and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.


The Cost Engineer is responsible for:


• Providing detailed and accurate cost estimates and budgets based on project scope, design, and execution strategy.

• Monitoring and control project costs to ensure adherence to approved budgets and financial targets.

• Supporting the project team by analyzing cost data, forecasting expenditures, and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.

• Ensuring the cost impact of changes, risks, and variations is clearly understood and reflected in financial reports.

Desired Candidate Profile


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Finance.

• Professional certification such as AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or equivalent is preferred.


• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in cost engineering within the construction, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.

• Proven experience working with multidisciplinary teams on large or mega projects.

• Familiarity with cost estimation tools, cost databases, and project management software.


• Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control principles.

• Solid knowledge of project management frameworks, construction processes, and cost drivers.

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to present cost data clearly.

• Proficiency in tools such as Primavera Cost Manager, SAP, Oracle, MS Excel, and other relevant systems.

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining data integrity.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure to meet deadlines.
