Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Track and record costs associated with production, maintenance, and other operational activities to ensure accurate cost allocation.
Monitor raw material, labor, and overhead costs to provide a clear understanding of production expenses.
Analyze variances between actual and standard costs, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Prepare detailed cost reports, including cost of goods manufactured (COGM) and present findings to management.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts by providing accurate cost data and analysis.
Collaborate with the Senior Accountant to ensure alignment between costing and overall financial planning.
Monitor and maintain accurate costing of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Conduct periodic inventory valuation and reconciliation to ensure consistency with accounting records.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards in all costing processes.
Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
Work closely with production, maintenance, and warehousing teams to gather accurate cost data and understand operational drivers.
Liaise with the Head of Planning & Reporting Unit and Senior Accountant to align cost accounting with financial reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Hands-on experience in tracking and managing costs associated with production, inventory, and operations in industries like FMCG, manufacturing, or food processing.
