Job Description Summary
GE Power Conversion, a part of GE Vernova, specializes in the conversion of electrical energy for various industrial applications. The company designs and delivers advanced motor, drive, and control technologies that contribute to the electrification and energy transition across multiple sectors.
As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of contracts within the organization. This includes drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and executing contracts to ensure they meet legal requirements and align with company goals. The Contract Manager will work closely with various departments to manage contractual obligations and mitigate risks.
Job Description
Roles and responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate and amend contracts, and bring support to internal teams, including commercial, legal, and sourcing (e.g. civil works, public procurement, etc.) .
- Lead communications, notices and claims towards Customers and supplier
- Maintain strong partnership with Project Management and Supply Chain teams
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all contract-related documents and communications.
- Identify potential risks & opportunities in contract terms and conditions.
- Develop strategies to mitigate contractual risks.
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and address any issues promptly (Planning deviations, performance gaps, budget overrun, scope creep)
- Work with and be part of internal teams, including legal, finance, engineering and project management, to ensure contract terms are understood and adhered to.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries, claims management, and disputes.
- Maintain coordination over consortium / JV partners, channels.
- Continuously improve contract management processes (including handovers), policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continuously improve Claim Risk tracker reporting to enhance customer claim monitoring and adequate flow down to vendors.
- Raise awareness and train our project teams about best practices in terms of contact management.
- Prepare regular reports on contract status, compliance, and performance.
- Analyze contract data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Lead contract reviews
- Master s degree in business administration, Law, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in contract management or a similar role, in an international context
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations (including EHS) in Saudi Arabia
- Arabic is a must
- Certification in contract management (e.g., Certified Professional Contract Manager CPCM), CIPS, and FIDIC knowledge is valued
- Knowledge of international laws and treaties, such as the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG)
- Experience in construction projects within Middle East area
- Experience in the segment of industrial equipment and systems (oil & gas, industry, marine)
- Proven ability in negotiation, analytical and synthetic mindset
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
