Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Contracts Manager to lead our contracts and claims management function for major contracting projects across the GCC. The ideal candidate must possess deep knowledge of FIDIC forms of contract, have extensive experience in managing contractual correspondence, and be well-versed in handling claims and dispute resolution matters. Fluency in Arabic is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management & Administration
Administer and manage all pre- and post-contract activities.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and advise project teams on contract interpretation.
Draft, review, and negotiate various contractual documents including subcontract agreements, NDAs, and MoUs. - Claims & Dispute Resolution
Prepare, evaluate, and respond to contractual claims, including extension of time (EOT), cost claims, variations, and disputes.
Maintain thorough documentation to support all claims.
Represent the company in contractual negotiations and disputes with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. - Correspondence & Documentation
Draft formal letters, notices, and contractual correspondence in alignment with FIDIC standards and project requirements.
Maintain a robust document control system for all contract-related communications. - FIDIC Expertise
Provide expert guidance on the application and interpretation of FIDIC contract conditions (Red, Yellow, and/or Silver Books).
Train and mentor project and commercial staff on FIDIC-related matters. - Stakeholder Management
Liaise with clients, consultants, legal advisors, and project teams to ensure alignment on contractual matters.
Participate in commercial meetings and contractual negotiations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Law.
- Minimum 10–18 years of experience in contracting projects, ideally within the GCC region.
- Proven track record in managing contracts on large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with FIDIC contracts is essential.
- Strong background in claims preparation, analysis, and defense.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills, particularly in formal contractual correspondence.
- Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead contract teams when required.
Preferred Certifications:
- RICS / MRICS, CIArb, or equivalent professional membership is an advantage.
