DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The post holder will have full time commitment to Pediatric medicine.
The main duties and responsibilities of the post will include:
Contribution to the daytime weekly attending rota and covering clinic. clinic will be both by appointment and emergency walk-ins.
The consultant will be expected to attend critical clinical situation if they arise during their duties.
Day to day decisions about the clinical management of children in the clinic attending.
Out of hours responsibilities as outlined above
Provision of cover for Consultant colleagues during periods of leave or approved absence.
Requirement to participate in medical audit, continuing medical education and hospital approved research.
Delegated Managerial responsibilities where appropriate.
Additional duties include joint responsibility for guideline development, counselling and attendance at departmental meetings
