Key Responsibilities:

• Provide end-to-end oversight of FHIR implementation across platforms and stakeholders.
• Define, validate, and maintain profiles, resources, and extensions aligned with HL7 FHIR standards.
• Establish governance processes for FHIR versioning, data quality, and interoperability compliance.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on FHIR APIs, terminology services (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC), and data mappings.
• Review and approve FHIR implementation guides (IGs), conformance testing, and integration specifications.
• Coordinate with national and international bodies to ensure alignment with evolving standards.
• Conduct technical assessments of vendor solutions for FHIR compliance.
• Develop and oversee testing and validation frameworks, including tooling (e.g., Inferno, Touchstone).

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in health IT, with at least 3 years hands-on experience in FHIR-based integrations.
• Deep understanding of HL7 FHIR R4+, RESTful APIs, OAuth2, and SMART on FHIR.
• Experience with health data models (OMOP, CDA, V2) and terminology standards.
• Familiarity with national HIE, EMR/EHR, and health data warehousing environments.

Preferred Certifications:

• HL7 Certified FHIR Proficiency
• Relevant cloud or integration architecture certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Mulesoft)

Soft Skills:

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical decisions into policy recommendations.
