Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Construction Manager shall be responsible for the leadership, coordination, and supervision of all on-site construction activities for a flagship FIFA stadium in Riyadh, KSA. The role ensures that all construction operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with the approved design, technical specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements established under the Project Management and Construction Management (PMCM) Scope of Services.
The Construction Manager shall report to the Project Director / Sr. Resident Engineer and shall be the key site authority for ensuring that all contractors perform in accordance with the Client’s expectations and contractual obligations.
Core Responsibilities:
Direct, coordinate, and supervise the overall execution of the works on site, ensuring that all construction activities are planned, organized, and controlled in accordance with the approved Project Execution Plan and Master Schedule.
Review and approve the Contractors’ construction methodologies, work sequences, and risk assessments to ensure conformity with the contract specifications, safety standards, and design intent.
Supervise daily site operations and maintain continuous presence during critical construction activities to verify workmanship and adherence to the approved method statements.
Lead and chair site coordination and progress meetings with contractors, consultants, and PMCM discipline leads to ensure interface control, issue resolution, and alignment with schedule milestones.
Monitor the Contractor’s manpower, materials, equipment, and logistics arrangements to confirm adequacy and compliance with approved plans.
Identify deviations in schedule, cost, or quality performance, assess potential impacts, and recommend corrective actions to the Project Director.
Oversee the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, ensuring that all works are executed under a fully compliant and auditable HSE system.
Ensure that construction activities meet the approved Quality Management Plan requirements, conducting regular inspections and audits to verify compliance.
Support the Project Director in managing construction-related interfaces between multiple work packages, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure integration and continuity of works.
Coordinate with the technical and commissioning teams during the pre-commissioning, testing, and handover stages to ensure readiness and compliance with Client requirements.
Maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily progress records, inspection reports, photographs, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and traceability of all construction activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
Chartered or Professional Engineer accreditation (or equivalent) is required.
Minimum 20 years of total professional experience, including extensive involvement in construction management of stadiums, arenas, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
Proven experience managing complex structural, architectural, and MEP interfaces on fast-track, high-profile developments.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple contractors under FIDIC-based contracts within strict safety, quality, and schedule parameters.
Comprehensive knowledge of international construction standards, Saudi Building Code, and HSE management systems applicable to major public assembly facilities.
