Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes under the guidance of senior chefs, ensuring consistency in taste and appearance.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards to promote a safe cooking environment.
- Efficiently handle food inventory, including receiving, storing, and rotating products, to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Participate in the mise en place process by chopping, measuring, and preparing ingredients for daily service, ensuring timely meal production.
- Support the team during service by promptly delivering prepared dishes and assisting in any necessary adjustments based on guest feedback.
- Engage in continuous learning by seeking feedback and observing experienced chefs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
- Participate in kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, and cooking techniques, contributing ideas and insights.
- Assist in the training of new kitchen staff, sharing knowledge of processes and standards to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and service, promptly addressing any issues to maintain high standards.
- Contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the kitchen, fostering teamwork and morale among colleagues.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma or equivalent, with culinary school training preferred.
- At least 2-4 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, demonstrating a commitment to culinary excellence.
- Experience in various cooking methods and techniques, allowing versatility in preparing a range of dishes.
- Certification in food safety and handling, showcasing knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Preferred nationality of candidates aligns with local labor laws and cultural integration within the team.
- Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills being a significant advantage in diverse kitchen settings.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment, ensuring efficiency and safety while preparing food.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and support a cohesive work environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure during busy service times, maintaining composure and focus on quality.
- Physical stamina and the capability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items, essential for a dynamic kitchen role.
