Position Overview
The Commis Chef role at W Dubai The Palm supports kitchen operations by preparing and cooking food items in line with brand standards, recipes, and quality guidelines. This position focuses on food preparation, kitchen coordination, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
* Regulate and monitor temperatures of ovens, grills, broilers, and other kitchen equipment
* Prepare special meals and substitute items as required
* Handle food storage correctly, including thawing items from freezer to refrigerator
* Ensure correct portioning, food arrangement, and garnishing before service
* Maintain food production logs and monitor food quality and quantity
* Communicate with senior chefs during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations
* Inform Chef of excess food items for daily specials and stock optimization
* Coordinate with food and beverage service teams regarding menu specials and out-of-stock items
* Maintain a clean and organized workstation following hygiene and safety standards
* Follow all company policies related to food safety, security, and workplace conduct
* Support training, guidance, and supervision of junior kitchen team members when required
* Report maintenance issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions promptly
* Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned by supervisors

Ideal Profile

* Technical, trade, or vocational qualification in culinary arts or food preparation
* Minimum 3 years of relevant kitchen or culinary experience
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume environment
* Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
* High attention to food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards
