Job Description

As a Commis Chef specializing in the Bakery department, you will work closely with our team to create high-quality baked goods that meet our standards of excellence. Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of bakery items according to established recipes and specifications.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality in finished products.
  • Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to achieve optimal results for different products.
  • Ensure workstation and equipment are clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Head Baker to develop new products and seasonal offerings.
  • Handle food items properly and store them according to food safety standards.
  • Receive and check deliveries of raw materials, ensuring quality and quantity meet requirements.
  • Assist in inventory management and alert supervisors of low stock levels in a timely manner.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks and assisting with special projects as needed.
  • Attend training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge about bakery processes and products.

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef or similar role in a bakery environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of bakery processes and culinary techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Passion for baking and commitment to producing high-quality products consistently.
