Roles & Responsibilities
As a Commis Chef specializing in the Bakery department, you will work closely with our team to create high-quality baked goods that meet our standards of excellence. The ideal candidate is passionate about baking and eager to learn, possessing a strong foundation in culinary techniques and a keen eye for detail. In this role, you will assist in the preparation of a variety of baked products, ensuring that each item is crafted with care and consistency. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of bakery items according to established recipes and specifications.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality in finished products.
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to achieve optimal results for different products.
- Ensure workstation and equipment are clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.
- Collaborate with the Head Baker to develop new products and seasonal offerings.
- Handle food items properly and store them according to food safety standards.
- Receive and check deliveries of raw materials, ensuring quality and quantity meet requirements.
- Assist in inventory management and alert supervisors of low stock levels in a timely manner.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks and assisting with special projects as needed.
- Attend training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge about bakery processes and products.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or similar role in a bakery environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of bakery processes and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Passion for baking and commitment to producing high-quality products consistently.
