Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF DUTY:
Commis Chef are new joiners in the industry and future chefs in training. Scope of task includes working alongside with demi and Chef de Partie on the basic needs of the kitchen. Commis chef may rotate to different sections to be able to gain knowledge while multitasking.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
OPERATION:
Assisting in the food preparation process
Assisting with the handling of health and safety
Assisting in the food preparation process
Preparing vegetables, meats, and fish
Assisting other Chefs
Helping with deliveries and restocking
Assisting with stock rotation
Cleaning stations
Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.
Assisting with the handling of food hygiene practices
To undertake general administration duties.
To observe the Company s rules and procedures and carry out any reasonable request made by their Manager, Supervisor, or the Duty Manager.
To be aware of your responsibilities in respect of Health and Safety at Work, following all procedures in this respect and reporting to management any hazardous situation or accident.
To attend training sessions and team meetings as required and to be involved and contribute to these.
ADMINISTRATION:
To permanently follow SOP s, manual and recipes
Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
Ensures all equipment in the kitchen is properly maintained and in working order in accordance with local Health department.
To be aware of your responsibilities in respect of Health and Safety at Work, following all procedures in this respect and reporting to management any hazardous situation or accident.
To attend training sessions and team meetings as required and to be involved and contribute to these.
COMMUNICATION:
To attend daily team briefing
To communicate in a transparent, efficient, and proactive manner through communication tools
Display exceptional behaviour to create a positive work environment, and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to management
HR & TRAINING:
Attend all training sessions related to Culinary & products
JOB ROLE SPECIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:
Level 1 Food Safety Handling
Aware of Manual Handling Techniques
Comfortable with handling Knives
Experience:
1 year in similar role (For Commis 2)
6 months in similar role (For Commis 1)
Previous experience in similar cuisine
Skills:
Speaking English is a must
Speaking Arabic is desirable
