Roles & Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Manager to drive sales growth, customer experience, and market expansion at our container terminal. Leading the Sales and Customer Care teams within the Commercial function, and working in full alignment with the Head of Commercial, you will ensure strategies translate into measurable business results. You will also build strategic partnerships with shipping lines, cargo owners, NVOCCs, and logistics partners, positioning the terminal as the preferred regional gateway.


Desired Candidate Profile

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive terminal sales growth, customer experience, and business expansion in alignment with the Head of Commercial.
  • Develop strong client partnerships with shipping lines, cargo owners, forwarders, and logistics partners.
  • Lead Sales and Customer Care organizations, coaching them and guiding execution of the Commercial Strategy.
  • Lead continuous enhancement of the Terminal Value Proposition, with focus on logistics and supply chain solutions.
  • Ensure seamless customer experience and champion a customer-first culture across the terminal.
  • Track market trends, competitor moves, and trade opportunities to position the terminal for growth.
  • Collaborate across internal teams to ensure service delivery meets client expectations and SLAs.
  • Report regularly to the Head of Commercial on sales performance, pipeline, and customer feedback.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding commercial targets (volume, revenue growth, market share gains, and customer satisfaction improvements).
  • Strong knowledge of shipping lines, forwarders, NVOCCs, 3PLs, tariffs, and trade lane dynamics.
  • Ability to translate strategy into execution and manage multiple commercial initiatives simultaneously.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, cross-cultural communication, and team leadership.
  • Data-driven decision-making with focus on volumes, revenues, and customer insights.
  • 5 8 years experience in B2B sales/account management in maritime or logistics sectors with in-depth understanding of local market dynamics.
