Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Contract negotiations, working closely with the Procurement Director to ensure alignment with procurement strategy and risk management.
2. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and project financial reporting for the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Division in close conjunction with the Group Construction Director and the Finance Director. Note: Cost control is not part of this role’s responsibility.
3. Risk Management for active and future projects.
4. Support bid development and tendering processes, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions.
5. Review and analyze Cost Value Reconciliation CVR files for all active projects, ensuring alignment with approved plans and forecasts.
6. Provide variance analysis and commercial insights to senior management, highlighting risks, opportunities, and trends.
7. Prepare annual plans for each project in conjunction with the Project Director, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and resource planning.
8. Oversee client billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, in collaboration with finance and project teams.
9. Prepare and manage commercial documentation for variations and claims working closely with the Contract Manager
10. Lead internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and performance.
11. Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to resolve quality issues and drive excellence.
OPERATING ENVIRONMENT

· The role requires significant travel across Africa to engage with key stakeholders and attend industry events.
· Occasional international travel for business meetings and conferences.
· Managing remote teams, geographically spread teams.
Desired Candidate Profile
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING/ KNOWLEDGE
Education & Professional Certifications · Bachelors degree in engineering, surveying, or related field MBA or PMP certification is a plus.
Work Experience · Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial and quality roles within EPC or infrastructure sectors. · Proven track record managing large-scale projects in Africa or emerging markets.
Technical Skills &
Knowledge Strong understanding of international contracting standards FIDIC, NEC, etc · Excellent analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. · Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills · Ability to make informed decisions under pressure · Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities · Proficiency in French and English languages (Spoken and written)
