A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machinist plays an essential role in manufacturing by operating and maintaining CNC machines. • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision metal and plastic parts.
• Interpret and comprehend blueprints, sketches, or CAD designs for machining requirements.
• Monitor the CNC machines during operations to ensure accuracy and precision.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any operational issues.
• Use measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers, for quality control.
• Adjust machine settings and tool parameters to optimize production efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety protocols and guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve machining processes.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and design specifications.
• Record and document machining operations, including run times and material use.
• Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
• Train and mentor junior machinists or new hires in machine operation best practices.

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in CNC machining preferred.
• At least two years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven knowledge of CNC machine programming and operation techniques.
• Strong proficiency with precision measuring tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of machine shop mathematics and machining concepts.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with others.
