Job Description

As a Clinical Assistant in Critical Care Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in providing support to medical professionals in the critical care unit, ensuring that patients receive optimal care. This position involves working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to assist in the monitoring and treatment of patients with life-threatening conditions. You will be responsible for providing basic patient care, responding promptly to patient needs, and ensuring that the critical care environment is constantly optimized for efficiency and safety. This role requires strong communication skills, an ability to work under pressure, and a genuine commitment to patient care.


Responsibilities
  • Assist medical staff in monitoring and documenting patient vital signs regularly.
  • Prepare and maintain critical care equipment and workspaces for optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to assess and address patient care needs efficiently.
  • Provide necessary patient care including bathing, feeding, and mobilizing patients.
  • Respond quickly to patient emergency situations and call for assistance when required.
  • Ensure proper hygiene standards are maintained throughout the critical care unit.
  • Transport patients within the facility safely and efficiently when needed.
  • Assist in routine medical procedures under the supervision of senior medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and report changes promptly.
  • Support patients and families by providing information and reassurance as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on best practices in critical care.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant environment.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Previous experience in a critical care unit or similar healthcare setting preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team effectively.
  • Capable of working in high-stress situations and responding effectively to emergencies.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail in medical environments.
  • Flexibility in working hours, with availability for rotating shifts, nights, and weekends.
