Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain chemical treatment programs for closed-loop chilled water and heating water systems.
  • Perform routine sampling, testing, and analysis of system water (pH, nitrite/molybdate or other inhibitors, conductivity, glycol concentration if applicable).
  • Adjust treatment through automated continuous dosing systems and/or pot feeders (slug dosing) to maintain target chemistry.
  • Trend water quality data and document results in CMMS/logs; generate QA and performance reports
  • Conduct system cleaning, flushing, passivation, and initial chemical charging for new or refurbished systems.
  • Inspect piping, coils, chillers, and heat exchangers for corrosion, fouling, or leaks indicative of water quality issues.
  • Coordinate with HVAC and Chiller Leads during outages, startups, and repairs to preserve loop chemistry.
  • Train HVAC personnel on closed-loop water treatment awareness and basic sampling procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
  • Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment, and tools).
  • Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.

Qualifications

  • Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in closed-loop HVAC or industrial water treatment systems.
  • Strong understanding of chilled water systems, pumps, and cooling towers.
  • Chemical handling or HAZCOM/OSHA training.
  • Shall provide an EPA 608 Universal Certification (Core, small appliances (Type I), high-pressure appliances (Type II), and low-pressure appliances (Type III)) is required.
  • Certified Water Technologist (CWT) or equivalent preferred
  • Working knowledge of corrosion control chemistry for steel, copper, and mixed-metal systems.
  • Experience with inhibitor-based programs, side-stream filtration, and air/dirt separators.
  • Ability to interpret water test results and make dosing adjustments.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and technical documentation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport.
  • Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver s License and able to drive with a manual transmission.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Must be able to pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge.
  • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
