Participate in the development of the organizational strategy by providing input on the financial management and the operations of the company including long and short-term capacity expansion to ensure that the operations requirements are factored into the organizational strategy.

Develop the functional strategy for operations in discussion with first line reports by identifying the long- and short-term requirements for each of the divisions to ensure that each of the divisional requirements are factored into the functional strategy.

Prepare the budget for the operations function in discussion with first line reports, identify the MIS requirements, review the MIS prepared by each of the divisions and take corrective action to ensure minimal budgetary variance.

Review and approve policies, processes, systems and standard operating procedures pertaining to load forecasting, operations, asset management, equipment optimization and testing, monitor deployment and adherence to ensure that policies, processes and systems are developed and deployed.

Identify and monitor shared services being provided, monitor performance of operations, monitor effectiveness of equipment performance and energy conservation plans, review effectiveness of maintenance schedules and take corrective action to ensure that the required maintenance and shared service plans are validated and effectively deployed.

Review and approve the operating plans and operating processes across locations, monitor manpower safety and staffing plans, monitor capacity utilization and operations process efficiency and initiate corrective action to ensure that all operations across locations are standardized and run efficiently.

Lead and guide subordinates by providing them with technical guidance, training and the required growth opportunities to ensure that subordinates are developed for higher-level roles.
