Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
This role is a key finance position and must be filled urgently to ensure proper oversight of the accounting function. Priority will be given to candidates with solid UAE contracting experience and IFRS, VAT, and Corporate Tax knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll, project accounting).
- Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS and Group standards.
- Oversee project-level cost control, WIP tracking, and margin analysis.
- Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations; prepare and file returns.
- Maintain cash flow forecasts, bank reconciliations, and intercompany accounts.
- Support the Group finance department on financial reporting, budgeting, and project performance reviews.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants and tax agents to ensure readiness and transparency.
- Enforce internal controls and the Delegation of Authority (DoA) across all accounting functions.
- Supervise junior accountants, review their work, and drive accuracy and timeliness.
Demonstrate leadership readiness for elevation to Chief Accountant responsibilities
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce(master’s preferred).
Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
5–10 years of progressive experience, with at least 3 years in a UAE contracting or construction firm.
Strong understanding of IFRS, project accounting, and construction revenue recognition (IFRS 15).
In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
ERP proficiency (Oracle, SAP, Odoo, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong communication and leadership potential.
Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
