Job Description

As a Charge Nurse in the Outpatient Department (OPD), you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the effective management of nursing staff. You will serve as a key liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and administration, ensuring that the OPD operates smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include overseeing patient care activities, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. You will also be expected to mentor staff, address patient and family concerns, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This position requires strong leadership skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the Outpatient Department (OPD) for efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff to maintain high standards of care delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies at all times.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers effectively.
  • Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal resource allocation.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to address issues and update staff on protocols.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans based on best practices.
  • Address patient and family concerns professionally to maintain trust and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care delivery.
  • Monitor patient progress and report significant changes in condition to physicians promptly.
  • Ensure the availability and maintenance of necessary medical supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in continuous professional development to keep abreast of industry advances.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse populations.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records and other healthcare management systems.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in nursing practices.
