Job Description:

The role of the Business Intelligence Senior Specialist is crucial in our organization, as they serve as a proficient Full-stack BI expert. Their responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining our business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will effectively bridge the gap between data engineering and business analysis, ensuring that our data is accurate, easily accessible, and utilized to facilitate strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience in developing Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI (Qlik and Tableau Nice to have). Resource should be Full-stack BI expert
  • Strong SQL skills for data querying, manipulation, and optimization.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, DBT or equivalent technologies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data integration and orchestration.
  • Experience working with Snowflake Data Warehouse for data storage and retrieval.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and version control systems like GitLab
  • Ability to work with large datasets and apply data modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data integration
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices.
  • Relevant certifications in Power BI or data modeling (optional).

Business Intelligence Analysis:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
  • Develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI (Qlik, and Tableau Nice to have)
  • Perform data analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support business strategies.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and data mining to answer complex business questions.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Data Engineering:
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using tools like Informatica, DBT, Microsoft ADF or equivalent technologies.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into a Snowflake (other Equivalent) data warehouse or data lake
  • Utilize Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) to orchestrate data pipelines and workflows.
  • Implement data quality checks and develop data cleansing and enrichment procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integration and synchronization across systems.
  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and data dictionaries to support reporting and analytics.
  • Maritime Domain and Financial Concepts (preferred):
  • Possess a good understanding of the maritime industry and its related data sources, processes, and challenges.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts such as revenue, expenses, profitability, and financial reporting.
  • ability to analyze financial data and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial analysis.
  • Data Engineering Team:
  • Collaboration with data engineers to ensure the seamless integration of data from various sources into the BI platform and to discuss data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Business Analysts: Regular communication with business analysts to understand their specific reporting and analytical requirements and provide them with the necessary BI solutions.
  • Data Scientists: Interaction with data scientists to share data insights and models for advanced analytics and machine learning projects.
  • End-Users: Providing training, support, and gathering feedback from end-users to ensure they can effectively use the BI tools and to incorporate their input into improving the user experience.
  • Project Managers: Collaboration with project managers on BI-related projects to ensure that they are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Training and Development Teams: Coordinating with training and development teams to create and deliver training programs for end-users and stakeholders on how to effectively use the BI tools.
