Job Overview

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting business data to provide strategic insights and recommendations that support decision-making across the organization. The role involves designing and developing BI reports, dashboards, and data models to present complex data in an accessible and actionable way. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of business operations, and experience with BI tools and data visualization techniques.Key ResponsibilitiesData Analysis & ReportingDevelop, design, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards to monitor business performance.Analyze large datasets from multiple sources to provide insights into key business metrics, trends, and opportunities.Present findings and insights to business leaders in a clear and actionable format, enabling data-driven decision-making.Data Modeling & ETL ProcessesDesign and implement data models and structures to ensure data is organized, accurate, and easily accessible for analysis.Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate and cleanse data from various systems (CRM, ERP, financial, etc.).Automate data collection and reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.Business Insights & Strategy SupportCollaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, finance, operations, sales, etc.) to understand business needs and create tailored BI solutions.Provide insights on business performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and risk areas.Help business units interpret data to optimize processes, improve customer experience, and drive revenue growth.Performance Measurement & KPIsDefine, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for various departments and initiatives.Develop predictive models and forecasting tools to guide future decision-making.Continuously monitor business performance and make recommendations for improvement based on data trends.Tool Development & OptimizationPropose and implement improvements to existing BI tools and data infrastructure.Stay current with new BI technologies, tools, and best practices.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of business intelligence data, enforcing data governance standards and best practices.QualificationsBachelor s degree in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.3 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related role.Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or Looker.Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses.Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and database management.Knowledge of business KPIs and metrics across different functions (sales, finance, marketing).Preferred SkillsExperience with advanced data analytics or machine learning techniques.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript for data analysis and automation.Experience with CRM, ERP, or financial systems (Salesforce, SAP, Oracle).Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of business reports and dashboards.Improvement in decision-making and operational efficiency driven by BI insights.Reduction in data errors or inconsistencies across business intelligence systems.Adoption and utilization of BI tools by business units and departments.
