Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Organizes and plans the use of painting and blasting equipment and materials for the various fabricated and assembled & pre-assembled equipment.
  • To supervise the preparation of the parts and assemblies for shot blasting & painting to stage for finishing product.
  • Familiar with various coatings, prep work, and blasting methods and to ensure defined production standards, schedules and quality requirements
  • Compile painting & blasting inventory and ensure that adequate stock if paints and equipment are kept in stock with stores department.
  • Ensures the blasting and painting equipment is properly maintained and in a ready state of operation.
  • To work with Blast, Paint systems and various tools for the completion of product to engineering specifications. Acts as liaison with the Operations Manager regarding the requirements for the project.
  • Operating blast painting equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete product.
  • Work on special projects as required.
  • Supervising & preparing the setup of necessary tools and equipment for blasting and painting processes.
  • Support the Quality Assurance department with respect to Quality assurance evaluation of painted products.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements.
  • Inspection of finished assemblies, parts and products to quality requirements.
  • Report production issues and assist in resolutions as required.
  • Compliant with the safety procedures of blasting and painting.
  • Participate in and attend cross functional meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the department manager.

Pre- Requisites:

  • Extensive familiarity with painting, and sandblasting works with minimum 8 years of experience
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision and under pressure
  • Diploma / ITI / GED
