Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages while ensuring a warm, engaging, and personalized guest experience. You will maintain a clean and organized workstation, follow brand standards, and contribute to the overall success of the outlet by promoting beverages and enhancing guest satisfaction in line with InterContinental s promise of True Hospitality for Good.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages to brand and recipe standards.
- Provide guests with product knowledge, recommend beverages, and upsell items to enhance their experience.
- Ensure all equipment (coffee machines, grinders, blenders, etc.) is operated safely and maintained in good working order.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station, display counters, and seating area.
- Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, tea, syrups, milk, and other supplies, and report shortages to supervisors.
- Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints with professionalism, ensuring service recovery where needed.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with hotel and local regulations.
- Assist in training new team members on coffee preparation techniques and service standards.
- Support overall F&B operations as required, including assisting colleagues during peak business hours.

Desired Candidate Profile
Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in hospitality is an advantage.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Barista in a hotel, caf , or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, latte art, and specialty beverages.
- Passion for coffee culture and customer service excellence.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages (Arabic, French, etc.) are an advantage.
- Professional appearance and grooming standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic cash handling or POS experience preferred.
