Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Chef specializing in both Turkish and Arabic-style baklava for The Ned Doha, the ideal candidate will demonstrate mastery in creating exceptional baklava from scratch, including the ability to prepare authentic hand-made filo pastry. The role requires working independently and efficiently, with experience handling high-volume production while maintaining impeccable standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare authentic Turkish and Arabic-style baklava from start to finish, including making filo pastry in-house.
  • Manage large-batch production for commercial sales without compromising on quality or presentation.
  • High volume production during festivities (Ramadan etc .)
  • Work alone and as part of a team in the kitchen while maintaining an organized and clean environment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HACCP guidelines and best practices for food safety and hygiene.
  • Understand and uphold the standards of a 5-star hotel or luxury food establishment in all aspects of food preparation, presentation, grooming standard and service.
  • Maintain inventory, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste to control costs
  • Innovate and suggest new variations of traditional baklava to enhance the menu.


Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Proven experience making both Turkish and Arabic baklava, including filo pastry preparation from scratch.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume production with consistent quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP safety procedures and commitment to food safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with the operational standards of 5-star hotels or luxury establishments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage all stages of pastry production.
  • Attention to detail, creativity, and a passion for maintaining culinary excellence.
  • Ability to take direction from the Executive Pastry Chef & Executive Chef
