Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Bakery and Pastry Chef for one of our Cafe shop client in Muscat ,Oman. This role is central to delivering exceptional baked goods and confectionery items that reflect our commitment to quality, creativity, and consistency. The Bakery and Pastry Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pastry production, from concept development to final presentation, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and operational excellence. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a skilled team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the culinary identity of a high-profile restaurant in the region. With a focus on innovation, staff development, and customer satisfaction, the ideal candidate will bring both technical mastery and leadership acumen to elevate our dessert and bakery offerings.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and execute innovative pastry and bakery menus aligned with seasonal trends and brand standards.
  • Oversee daily production of breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and specialty items with precision and consistency.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, hygiene protocols, and health regulations at all times.
  • Supervise and mentor junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff, providing ongoing training and performance feedback.
  • Lead staff development initiatives to enhance team skills, engagement, and retention.
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation (FIFO), and minimize waste through efficient planning.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed records of recipes, production logs, and quality control checks.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and emerging ingredients to drive innovation.


Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • 1 3 years of proven experience as a Bakery and Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a professional food service environment.
  • Strong knowledge and consistent application of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
  • Demonstrated ability in staff development, training delivery, and team leadership.
  • Proven experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives within a kitchen or production setting.
  • Proficiency in recipe development, baking techniques, and pastry presentation.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak service periods.
  • Valid work permit and eligibility to work in Oman (Muscat).
