Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Craft artisan breads and pastries from scratch, using high-quality ingredients to meet established recipes and standards.
  • Utilize precision in measuring and mixing ingredients to ensure consistency in product quality and taste.
  • Monitor baking processes, adjusting temperatures and times to achieve optimal results for various baked goods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations to guarantee food safety.
  • Experiment with new recipes and techniques to innovate and expand the bakery's offerings, appealing to diverse customer tastes.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management to coordinate production schedules and meet customer demands.
  • Manage inventory levels of baking supplies, ordering ingredients in advance to prevent shortages and maintain workflow.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on baked goods, ensuring they meet the bakery's high standards before they reach customers.
  • Train and mentor junior bakers and apprentices, sharing knowledge of techniques and best practices for professional growth.
  • Engage with customers, providing recommendations and ensuring a positive experience that fosters loyalty to the bakery.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, with a degree in culinary arts preferred to demonstrate foundational knowledge.
  • At least 2-3 years of professional baking experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting to ensure skill proficiency.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation to uphold the highest standards in food handling and preparation.
  • Experience with both traditional and modern baking techniques, showcasing versatility in product offerings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the bakery's operational needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise measurements and instructions for consistent results.
  • Fluency in English, with additional language skills a plus for customer engagement in diverse communities.
  • Physical stamina to handle the demands of a busy kitchen environment, including lifting heavy bags of flour and standing for long periods.
