Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure Timely and Accurate Payroll Processing Oversee the end-to-end payroll process of employees, ensuring timely and error-free disbursement of salaries, benefits, and other payments in line with published payroll calendars and Function KPIs. Lead the execution of regular and off-cycle payroll runs, including final settlements.

  • Payroll Compliance and Regulatory Adherence Ensure payroll operations comply with all relevant local, regional, and international laws, tax regulations, and internal policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory requirements and proactively implement changes to payroll processes as needed. Prepare and submit statutory reports to government bodies (e.g., Pension Funds, Social Security, Tax Authorities) and ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions.

  • Payroll Data Analysis and Reporting Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement. Prepare and deliver standard and ad-hoc payroll reports, monthly dashboard and analytics to HR leadership, Finance, and regulatory bodies. Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Payroll Reconciliation and Verification Perform detailed payroll reconciliations (Gross to Net and Net to Net) to ensure accuracy between payroll records, bank statements, and accounting ledgers. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly. Perform pre and post Payroll verifications includes inputs and outputs, including validation of salary changes, allowances, deductions, and adjustments.

  • System Enhancements and Process Improvement Liaise with the IT Support team and HR Systems team to drive process automation and system enhancement initiatives including gathering business requirements, conducting system testing, and support data migration activities. Review and maintain Payroll Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process maps, and related documentation to ensure alignment with best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing payroll accuracy, operational efficiency, and employee satisfaction.

  • Audit and Internal Controls Ensure payroll processes are compliant with internal and external audit requirements. Support payroll audits by providing required data, documentation, and explanations to auditors. Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure data integrity.

  • Stakeholder Management and Support Act as the primary point of contact for complex payroll queries from employees, HRBPs, Finance, and business stakeholders. Provide Tier 2 support for escalated payroll issues, ensuring resolution within agreed SLAs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address payroll-related matters and support business objectives.

  • Team Development Support the growth and development of payroll team members by providing coaching, guidance, and recognition. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages learning and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor s degree in finance or related discipline.

Minimum Experience

  • 5 7 years relevant payroll experience in large/multi-national organization

  • Minimum 5 years experience of managing payroll processing with ERP (Oracle/SAP etc )

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Organize and supervise the activities assigned to the team to ensure the delivery of the activity is carried out in an efficient manner, which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.

  • Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to assigned team to support their overall development.

  • Promote the organization s values and ethics in all activities within the team in order to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the bank.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensure effective implementation of the FAB performance management process.
  • Develops talent within the team by providing guidance and coaching to achieve the defined goals.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Provide inputs and implement policies, systems and procedure for the assigned team so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Customer Orientation

The ability to identify current and future customers, understand their current and future needs and respond with relevant and creative solutions. Make FAB the preferred partner for customers and build long term relationships in the best interest of the Bank. A customer may be an external customer, or an internal customer/colleague within FAB.

Persuasion and Influence

The ability to persuade and convince others to take actions beneficial to the Bank and customers. It involves the ability to clearly identify and understand situations and then respond appropriately when interacting with individuals and groups.

Reporting

  • Prepare Payroll standard reports, dashboard and ad-hoc as and when required and deliver to business, HR leadership and other regulatory bodies

Analyzing and solving problems

Understanding problems by breaking them into smaller parts and identifying risk-return implications in a systematic way. Making logical comparisons of possible outcomes and coming up with the best possible solutions to problems.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in finance or related discipline.

5 7 years relevant payroll experience in large/multi-national organization

Minimum 5 years experience of managing payroll processing with ERP (Oracle/SAP etc )
