Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: AVP - Clearing & Hubs (Arab Speaker)

Location: Dubai

Client: An Islamic Bank

Job Purpose

To manage people and functions within General Banking Operations (Clearing, Mini Hubs in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, RAK, and Fujairah) and partially Trade Services (RAK, Fujairah, and Al Ain). The role ensures delivery of high-quality services to internal and external customers, identification of process bottlenecks, rationalization of process flows, monitoring of MIS & ORMS reports, and supporting system automation initiatives from the operations side.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and control General Banking activities in Clearing Mini CODs and Trade Services across RAK, Fujairah, and Al Ain, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Lead clearing and internal transfers at GBO Sharjah and Hubs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure suspense GLs are balanced at day-end.
  • Conduct technical and signature verification for inward/in-house and authorize outward clearing cheques and demand draft transactions.
  • Monitor transactions, key reports, daily MIS, and negative balance reports to mitigate risks.
  • Continuously review and re-engineer processes to enhance efficiency and control costs.
  • Ensure timely filing and transfer of records to the central archive as per policy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers.
  • Maintain effective controls to ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and audit standards.
  • Manage work assignments, user profiles, schedules, manpower resources, and leave planning while ensuring backup coverage for critical positions.
  • Keep all documentation (JD/JO/DOA/Self Audit Questionnaires/Process Flows/Risk Assessments) up to date for self and team.
  • Deliver on additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 7–8 years of overall banking experience, with at least 3 years in Banking Operations (preferably Clearing).
