Automation/System engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm and Automation System Engineer to design, implement, and maintain fire alarm systems and building automation systems (BAS) in commercial, industrial, or residential settings. The engineer will ensure systems comply with relevant codes and standards while integrating automation solutions to improve safety, efficiency, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

System Design & Engineering:

o Design fire alarm systems based on project specifications, NFPA standards, and local codes.

o Develop automation system architecture and control logic for HVAC access control, and life safety systems.

o Prepare engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control panel layouts.

Programming & Configuration:

o Program fire alarm control panels

o Configure Building Management Systems (BMS) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) for system control and monitoring.

o Integrate fire alarm systems with BAS and third-party systems via protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.

Installation Support & Testing:

o Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.

o Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and tuning to ensure optimal performance and compliance.

o Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).

o Ensure adherence to fire safety regulations (e.g., NFPA 72, NEC).

o Prepare documentation including technical reports, user manuals, and as-built drawings.

o Maintain project logs, configuration records, and maintenance schedules.
