Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose automotive problems using electronic diagnostic equipment and manual techniques.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Repair and replace faulty parts in engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are performed according to safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance services provided to each vehicle.
  • Communicate clearly with customers to explain complex automotive issues and solutions.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in automotive technology and repair techniques.
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure issues have been resolved and the vehicle is safe for use.
  • Collaborate with team members and provide guidance to apprentice mechanics as needed.
  • Order and maintain inventory of automotive parts and tools required for repairs.
  • Inspect vehicle systems, including suspension, steering, and exhaust for issues.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and company policies regarding safety and repair standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in automotive repair preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an auto mechanic or technician.
  • Comprehensive understanding of car engines, vehicle systems, and modern automotive technology.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, tools, and repair manuals efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail for accurate repairs.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
  • Certification from a recognized automotive service excellence program is advantageous.
