Job Title: Architect – Authority Liaison & Project Oversight

Location: Dubai, U.A.E
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced architect to join our team, with a specialized focus on liaison with authorities, government coordination, and architectural project oversight. This role is critical to ensuring regulatory compliance, smooth communication with authorities, and consistent supervision across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

· Act as the primary point of contact between the company and government/regulatory authorities related to projects.

· Manage the preparation, submission, and follow-up of drawings, documentation, and applications for authority approvals, including building permits, NOCs, and regulatory clearances.

· Ensure that all architectural documentation complies with local building codes, planning regulations, and authority requirements.

· Lead and oversee architectural supervision activities across all active project sites to ensure high-quality execution and compliance with approved plans.

· Provide technical input during design development and construction phases to ensure feasibility and regulatory adherence.

· Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor construction progress and architectural quality.

· Coordinate closely with internal design teams, engineering consultants, and contractors to resolve any design or regulatory conflicts.

· Monitor and manage the authority approval timeline to avoid project delays and ensure timely execution.

· Represent the company in meetings with government agencies, consultants, and clients to discuss technical and regulatory matters.

· Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports and records of all authority-related communications and submissions.

· Support tendering processes by reviewing technical documentation for compliance with authority requirements.

· Advise management and project stakeholders on risks, changes, or challenges related to regulations or compliance.

· Mentor junior architects and engineers on authority procedures and standards to build internal capability.

· Liaise with sustainability consultants to ensure compliance with green building codes and certifications where applicable.

· Track and interpret updates in local building codes, regulations, and urban planning guidelines, ensuring timely integration into company practices.

· Supervise preparation of shop drawings and coordinated drawings for civil, MEP works, and authority requirements drawings.

· Accompany the Project Team during DM/Authority official visits to Project Sites/Offices.

· Proceed and follow up with local authorities to fulfill the company management requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in architecture, with at least 5 years in authority liaison and site supervision roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of local authority procedures, permitting processes, and relevant building regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing submissions and approvals with government entities (e.g., municipality, civil defense, planning departments, DEWA).

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to authority and project challenges.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and project coordination tools.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
