Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Take a proactive approach to cost planning "plan the cost, not cost the plan" ensuring that budgets drive design and decision-making.
  • Drive the cost vs. value equation, ensuring optimal financial outcomes without compromising project goals.
  • Collaborate with development teams to create and implement effective cost planning strategies.
  • Oversee the procurement, briefing, and management of external cost consultants to produce CAPEX cost plans, ensuring deliverables meet project standards and timelines.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure cost plans are consistent, accurate, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to defined policies, processes, and templates.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, skill development, and excellence.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on cost-related matters.
  • 10-15 years of experience in cost planning or quantity surveying, with significant experience working client-side for a developer;
  • Experience working on large-scale master planning projects is a strong advantage.
  • Professional accreditation such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), AIQS (Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) or similar is preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex cost planning processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey cost strategies and insights to a diverse audience.

Desired Candidate Profile

10-15 years of experience in cost planning or quantity surveying, with significant experience working client-side for a developer;

Experience working on large-scale master planning projects is a strong advantage.

Professional accreditation such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), AIQS (Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) or similar is preferred.

Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex cost planning processes.
