Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
International Tax Planning:
- Develop and implement international tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the organization's global tax position.
- Conduct research on international tax laws, treaties, and regulations to identify opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with finance and legal teams to structure cross-border transactions, acquisitions, and reorganizations to achieve tax efficiency.
- Provide tax advice and guidance on international business operations, including transfer pricing, repatriation of profits, and foreign tax credits.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with international tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare and review complex international tax returns, including Form 5471, Form 8858, and other related forms.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and local tax teams to prepare and review local country tax filings, including transfer pricing documentation and country-by-country reporting.
- Assist with tax audits and inquiries from international tax authorities, providing supporting documentation and explanations as required.
Risk Management and Policy Development:
- Monitor changes in international tax legislation, regulations, and accounting standards, and assess their impact on the organization.
- Identify and evaluate tax risks associated with international business operations and propose mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with international tax regulations and internal control requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on international tax matters and ensure awareness of relevant tax issues.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to support global business initiatives and provide tax advice on cross-border transactions.
- Work closely with external advisors and tax authorities to resolve complex tax issues and provide necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with finance and treasury teams to optimize cash repatriation and manage international tax-efficient financing structures.
- Participate in global tax planning meetings, providing insights and recommendations on international tax matters.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (a Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred).
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in international tax planning, compliance, and reporting, preferably in a multinational corporation or a public accounting firm.
- Deep knowledge of international tax laws, regulations, and principles, including transfer pricing rules and tax treaties.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and apply complex tax regulations
