Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the effective operation of a retail store. They are responsible for supporting the Store Manager in driving sales, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational excellence. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of multitasking, with the ability to lead a team towards achieving store targets. The Assistant Store Manager helps coordinate various functions such as inventory management, employee supervision, and customer service. They work closely with the Store Manager to plan and execute sales strategies, promotions, and other initiatives to increase store profitability. A successful Assistant Store Manager demonstrates strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for fostering a positive shopping experience.


Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in daily operations and store management activities.
  • Supervise staff to ensure optimal performance and customer service delivery.
  • Coordinate employee schedules and manage workload distribution efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for inventory replenishment.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints to maintain satisfaction.
  • Implement marketing and promotional strategies to drive sales and foot traffic.
  • Assist in financial management including budgeting, expenses, and sales reporting.
  • Train and onboard new staff ensuring understanding of store policies and roles.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment for customers.
  • Conduct regular store audits to ensure operational and financial compliance.
  • Participate in planning and execution of store events and promotions.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in retail management or similar supervisory role is required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to manage a team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle store operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer service focus and attitude.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and retail management software programs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business preferred.
