Roles & Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will mainly teach courses in Statics, Strength of Materials, Construction Materials, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Analysis I, Structural Analysis II, Concrete I, Concrete II, Steel Design, Numerical Methods and Foundation Engineering. Furthermore, the faculty member will be required to contribute to other teaching in subjects related to structural engineering, thus, proficiency in related subjects is essential.

The applicant should fulfill the following eligibility conditions to be considered for the position.

  • Demonstrated involvement in research and scholarly activities, with recent publications.
  • Practical experience gained form working in the civil engineering industry.
  • Teaching experience at the university level for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Proficient English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality instruction, incorporating impactful educational methods.
  • Familiarity with ABET accreditation and institutional standards assessment.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues across various disciplines.

Desired Candidate Profile

The Department of Civil Engineering at Dhofar University is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Professor faculty position commencing in Spring 2026 (February). Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering from a reputable university.
