Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Head of General Education Program to fulfil the Academy s strategic priorities.
  • Teach Foundation English and TESOL/EFL courses at the undergraduate level.
  • Employ modern, communicative, and student-centered approaches to language teaching.
  • Design assessments, exams, and coursework aligned with learning outcomes and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure teaching is research-informed and reflects best practices in English Language Teaching.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, including new English/TESOL courses.
  • Engage in scholarly research in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related areas.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on assignments and exams.
  • Participate in accreditation, assessment moderation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Support Academy initiatives through seminars, workshops, and community engagement.

Skills

  • Ability to fluently teach and communicate in English at the highest academic level.
  • Strong knowledge of TESOL/EFL methodologies and curriculum design.
  • Team player, approachable, and culturally sensitive.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet academic deadlines.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • E: PhD in English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
  • E: Recognized qualification in English Language Teaching is an advantage.

Experience

  • E: Proven teaching experience in English, TESOL, or EFL at university level.
  • P: Evidence of research publications or projects in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or English Studies.
  • P: Experience developing Foundation English or ESL programs.
  • P: Familiarity with UAE CAA requirements.
  • P: Familiarity with learning technologies (LMS, online assessment, academic integrity tools).
