Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Looking for an Asstt. Manager (EXIM) to oversee and manage all import activities related to raw materials, machinery, and components essential for ductile iron and steel pipe manufacturing. The role ensures compliance with Saudi customs regulations, optimized logistics operations and coordination with external agencies and internal departments to ensure timely and cost-effective importation.
Key Deliverables of this position:
- To manage the importation of plant, machinery, spare parts, semi-finished goods and raw materials for manufacturing of DI and LSAW pipes.
- To ensure full compliance with Saudi customs regulations, SASO/SABER requirements, and import documentation standards.
- To coordinate with customs agent and consultant for obtaining exemption of customs duty as per eligibility of the manufacturing unit.
- To coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- To monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies.
- To maintain up-to-date records of all import transactions, including HS codes, Incoterms, and duty structures.
- To collaborate with procurement, projects, production, and finance teams to align import schedules with manufacturing needs.
- To stay updated on changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and import duties affecting steel and industrial goods.
- To prepare and present regular reports on import performance, costs, and compliance metrics.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification / Professional Experience / Skills / Capabilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in import/logistics management, preferably in the steel or heavy manufacturing sector involving importation of industrial-grade steel and machinery.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi customs procedures, import regulations, SASO certification/waiver, custom duty exemption and documentation.
- Familiarity with steel industry materials and international trade practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and logistics software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and adequate command over English.
- Understanding of HS codes, Incoterms (especially CIF, FOB), and international shipping documentation.
- Ability to manage high-volume shipments and complex supply chains.
