Roles & Responsibilities
OVERVIEW / BASIC FUNCTION
- The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in overseeing the financial operations of Rosewood AMAALA, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity, compliance, and efficiency in line with Rosewood s luxury brand values and AMAALA s sustainability vision. This role is instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing profitability, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements, and supporting the resort s pre-opening and operational phases.
- The incumbent will act as a strategic business partner to the Executive Committee, providing insightful analysis, financial guidance, and proactive recommendations that drive long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in leading all aspects of the Finance Department, including Accounting, Cost Control, Purchasing, and Stores.
- Oversee daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Rosewood standards and local regulations.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasts, and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with the shared services and corporate finance teams on consolidation, audit, and reporting requirements.
- Support the Director of Finance in the preparation of annual budgets, capital expenditure plans, and rolling forecasts.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to department heads to optimize performance.
- Ensure budgetary controls and cost management initiatives are effectively implemented across all departments.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment aligned with Rosewood corporate standards.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all financial and accounting records comply with local GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Monitor daily cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational and capital requirements.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring efficient collection and disbursement processes.
- Safeguard the resort s assets through proper control and documentation procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or ACCA preferred.
- Minimum 8 10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within a luxury hotel or resort.
- Pre-opening experience in an ultra-luxury environment highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality financial systems (e.g., SUN, BirchStreet, Opera, FMC).
- Solid understanding of IFRS, Saudi GAAP, and local tax and statutory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic is an asset.
