Roles & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT: Must have min 3 to 6 years of Category management experience for Appliances SDA / MDA
JOB SUMMARY: To support the Category Manager in developing and executing business strategies for the Appliances category, ensuring achievement of sales and profitability targets, while managing product assortment, vendor relations, pricing, and promotions across all retail formats.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Category Management: Assist in defining and managing the product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies for the Appliances category.
· Sales & Gross Margin Tracking: Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales and GM performance; provide timely insights and reports to support decision-making.
· Vendor Coordination: Liaise with key suppliers and principals for product planning, order management, promotional support, and inventory control.
· Promotion Planning: Collaborate with marketing and retail teams to execute campaigns, seasonal promotions, and new product launches.
· Inventory & Supply Chain: Coordinate with SCM to ensure availability of high-demand products and minimize excess/aged inventory.
· Market Intelligence: Track market trends, competitor pricing, and product launches to maintain Jumbo’s competitive positioning.
· Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with retail operations, online teams, finance, and warehouse to ensure smooth implementation of category plans.
· System & Process Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal systems (SAP, POS, etc.) for pricing, stock updates, and master data accuracy.
· Customer Experience: Support initiatives to enhance in-store and online customer engagement and satisfaction for Appliances.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Category Management, Buying, or Merchandising within the Appliances sector.
- Prior UAE retail experience preferred.
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales or Marketing
- MBA or post-graduate qualification in Retail/Marketing is a plus.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Proficient in Excel, reporting tools, and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
