Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly, configuration, integration, and testing of SCADA systems and related automation equipment for various oil and gas projects. This role requires a strong technical background, field experience, and a comprehensive understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and network protocols.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • System Assembly and Integration: Assemble, wire, and integrate SCADA panels, control systems, and related hardware, ensuring all components are installed correctly according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT): Develop and execute detailed Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) plans and procedures. Perform comprehensive testing of all hardware and software components to ensure they meet project specifications before site delivery.
  • Site Installation and Commissioning: Participate in the installation, pre-commissioning, and on-site commissioning of SCADA systems at project locations throughout Kuwait, ensuring all systems are integrated seamlessly with existing oil and gas infrastructure.
  • System Configuration and Programming: Configure and program SCADA software (e.g., Wonderware, GE iFIX, Siemens WinCC), PLCs, and Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) based on project requirements. Develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens for optimal operator visibility and control.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to SCADA hardware, software, and communication networks during testing and commissioning phases. Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for operational systems.
  • Network Management: Set up and configure industrial communication networks using protocols such as Modbus TCP, DNP3, and IEC 61850. Monitor data communication and ensure system security compliance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Generate and maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including test reports, configuration files, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and as-built drawings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design engineers, vendors, and clients, to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in SCADA system assembly, testing, and commissioning, with a strong preference for experience in the oil and gas industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with major SCADA software platforms (e.g., AVEVA, Siemens WinCC, Rockwell FactoryTalk).
  • Solid experience with PLC programming and configuration (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, wiring, and panel fabrication.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and engineering diagrams.
