Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is a publicly funded research institute, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is home to a diverse community of leading scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and researchers from across the globe, transforming problems and roadblocks into pioneering research and technology prototypes that help move society ahead.
Main Responsibilities:
- Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimize a wide range of DSP algorithms for tasks such as filtering, noise reduction, beamforming, and signal detection.
- Data Analysis: Work with raw acoustic data to identify patterns, evaluate algorithm performance, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Programming: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in languages such as MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ to implement algorithms and conduct simulations.
- Hardware Integration: Collaborate with hardware and embedded systems engineers to ensure that DSP algorithms can be efficiently run on the devices processors.
- Prototyping & Testing: Support the development of prototypes and conduct rigorous tests to validate the performance of acoustic systems in both laboratory and real-world conditions.
- Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of DSP concepts, including Fourier analysis, filter design (FIR/IIR), adaptive filtering, and statistical signal processing.
- Familiarity with the unique challenges of underwater sound propagation, including multipath interference, reverberation, and ambient noise.
- Expertise in one or more of the following languages: MATLAB, Python, or C/C++. Experience with embedded systems, FPGA and real-time processing is a significant plus.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Minimum three years of experience directly related to the field of product design and development.
