Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle, including billing, collections, cash application, and reconciliations.
  • Generate and issue accurate invoices for tenant rent, construction cost recoveries, milestone payments, and other billable project-related charges.
  • Monitor and manage aging reports to ensure timely collections and minimize bad debt risk.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with tenants, clients, and partners to resolve payment issues and manage disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with lease agreements, sales contracts, and development project terms when issuing invoices and tracking payments.
  • Collaborate with development, legal, and property management teams to ensure billing aligns with contractual obligations.
  • Supervise and mentor AR staff, including workload management, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Prepare AR reports, cash forecasts, and analysis for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Support monthly close processes and audits by providing AR schedules and documentation.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to AR systems, policies, and procedures for increased efficiency and accuracy.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Industry experience in real estate development, construction, or property management is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lease structures, project billing schedules, and draw processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Sage 300, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
