Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for;
- Review processes, analyse high risk areas, handle quality checks, and ensure adequate maintenance of prevention and detection controls to ensure completeness, timelines of processing, accounting, billing and accuracy of computation and settlement.
- Resolve disputes, queries, discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify areas and ensure active involvement in projects, system enhancements testing and process changes and thereby acquire in depth knowledge and enhance business processes.
- Check the integrity of interfaces and completeness of data generated by the system. Provide support on key processes and deliverables in the absence of Finance Officer and assist the Finance Officer/Controller in month closing reviews by investigating movements in balances to ensure quality/accuracy of reporting and to ensure that month/year end adjustments are kept to the minimum.
- Provide data analytical support for Management Information Systems (MIS), KPI and Revenue Protection.
- Co-ordinate with relevant internal service providers to enable the processing of payment runs relating to payroll and reimbursements as per schedule. Ensure data/files are received on time and uploaded correctly into the system for generation of reports and bank transfer listings for payments. Generate necessary accounting entries through the system or manually to support these activities.
- Verify requests for loans and advances to employees with reference to supporting documents and approvals to ensure validity. Ensure correct payment, recovery and accounting and follow up and investigate any discrepancies identified to resolution.
- Create and update masters relating to payroll and EFT in the relevant HR/Finance systems through inputting accurate information such as bank details to enable correct accounting and electronic payments.
- Review employee related costs at outstations comprising salary disbursements and upload of payroll files to respective banks; generation of payroll for stations as required; centralised accruals and accounting of bonus and EOSB for outstation based staff; reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts.
Desired Candidate Profile
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements;
- 12 yrs schooling or equivalent with 4+ years relevant experience (Consideration will be given to 10 yrs schooling and 6+ years relevant experience)
- High level of computer literacy and good knowledge of office automation software like Word, Excel, MS Access and Power point
- Good analytical and investigative skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with various stakeholders across the business.
- Ability to function independently within an established framework
