Job Description

An Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial health of an organization by managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing key insights through financial analysis. This position is vital for maintaining accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, and contributing to strategic financial planning. Accountants work with various departments within a company to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring the organization's finances are in order. They are responsible for preparing financial statements, evaluating financial operations, and advising on cost-reduction strategies. The role demands a high degree of integrity and a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and analytical skills to drive business success and compliance.


Responsibilities
  • Prepare and examine financial records, statements, and other financial reports for accuracy.
  • Ensure correct and timely recording of all company financial transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements with general ledger accounts to eliminate discrepancies.
  • Analyze business operations, financial commitments, and future revenues to forecast funds needed.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for the organization.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual and interim company financial audits and reviews.
  • Monitor compliance with financial regulations and legislation to maintain sound financial practices.
  • Advise management on issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions for budget forecasts.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
  • Compile and analyze financial reports to improve financial performance and planning.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis and prepare detailed financial strategies for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of local, state, and federal tax returns for compliance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related role.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with absolute confidentiality.
