Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Position: Accountant (Mid to Senior Level) Location: Irbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq Reporting to: Chief Accountant – Head Office, Dubai Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 3–5 years in accounting. Key Responsibilities • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR): Invoice issuance, client follow-ups, reconciliations, aging analysis. • Handle Accounts Payable (AP): Vendor payments, expense approvals, supplier reconciliations. • Prepare and monitor daily/weekly cash flow reports, coordinate with HO in Dubai. • Perform bank reconciliations, petty cash management, and intercompany transactions. • Assist in monthly closing, P&L review, balance sheet schedules, and audit support. • Ensure compliance with Iraqi tax laws, Zakat, and local statutory requirements. • Liaise with Dubai Head Office for consolidated reporting (IFRS/IAS compliant). • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives for Iraq operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or ACCA/CPA (part-qualified or in progress). • 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience (construction, trading, or services sector preferred). • Strong knowledge of AR, AP, cash flow management, and financial reporting. • Proficiency in ERP systems, QuickBooks and advanced MS Excel. • Fluency in English; Arabic is a strong advantage. • Valid residency/work permit in Iraq (or ability to obtain). • Willingness to be based in Irbil.
